Meet Merrit -a shy sweetheart with a heart full of potential. When Merrit first arrived in foster care, he was overwhelmed and unsure, spending his time tucked away in cozy hiding spots and needing lots of encouragement to eat. But just a few days later, his gentle personality began to shine. Merrit started seeking out pats, eating from his foster's hand, and even following them around the house like a little shadow. He's a floor-level cuddler-happy to snuggle when you're down at his level, though he's not a fan of being picked up. Merrit gets along beautifully with other animals, having bonded with his foster's young cat and even greeting visiting dogs with curiosity and calm. He's chatty, playful, and affectionate once he feels safe. Merrit would thrive in a quiet home with patient people who understand that the best relationships take time. - While our shelters are open, not every pet available for adoption will be onsite and available in person. To express your interest, Apply to Adopt online and if it's a perfect match you will be shortlisted and contacted via phone by our Adoption Team to discuss the animal in detail.
